A tandem flight is ten to twenty minutes in the air with a licensed pilot who carries the wing, does the take-off run with you and lands the pair of you in a field near the centre. These 15 differ on launch site, air time and price. All of them have weight limits, all of them need settled wind, and weather cancellations are common — build in a spare morning.

“Our guides were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, and overall this was such a great experience. If you care a lot about photos or video footage, I would recommend asking a few questions before getting started. My partner was able to hold and control the camera and ended up with great footage, knowing exactly when it was on and how to use it. For me, it was a bit unclear when the camera was active or when I should look at it or smile while the guide was holding it, so some of my footage turned out a little wonky and not quite as clear. That said, the guides were excellent…”
